Peter Nii Narku Thompson

Peter was born in Accra, Ghana, West Africa, adding to an extended family of artists.  From a very young age, Peter's father witnessed his talent and encouraged him to pursue his art education beyond high school.  He graduated with a Diploma of Art from Ghanatta College of Art in Accra, where he focussed on watercolors and abstract art.

Peter is currently the Director of the Painting Department at EverImages Career Consult, and also held the same position with the Junior Art Club, both in Accra.  These NGO's strive to unearth the creative potentials in youth and communities around Ghana.  Peter is passionate about teaching children the value of art, ensuring that Ghana's rich art culture continues to live on through them for generations to come.

Peter is also a member of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Ghana, and held his first art exhibition at the American Club in Accra, 1998.  During the past four years, Peter has participated in numerous exhibitions in Ghana and the United States.  He was able to make his first visit to the U.S. in February, 2008, where he gave lectures, worked with disadvantaged youth, and held three exhibitions of his work.

Peter's peaceful disposition is reflected in his choice of free-flowing color and bold approaches.  He derives his inspiration from his creative imagination and observations of life in total.
